Discussion #4

1.) This passage is not only for women, but it also applies to men. I agree with doing things that will better challenge our lives. Women too often do things that they know will not challenge them. Men will do things to take on a big challenge. Just like a woman a man should not let others think, speak, or act for them. Women do things because, a male does it first. If a male does something, a female will go right behind him and do the same thing, NOT thinking we suffer different consequences. Women are more looked down on because, we have the sex; FEMALE. Minorities and people with low income are also looked down upon because of their situation. We should all be viewed equally.

2.) When students enter a classroom they agree to learn! College is like a big high school to me, except when you enter a classroom in high school you are forced to learn if not you get written up. In college you are not forced to learn. Yes, in college the teacher cares because, they are getting paid if your grades are good. In high school they get paid whether you learn or not. Teachers agree to teach you and also to help you.

Discussion #3

1.) I generally read over an assignment for a paper two or three times before beginning. I re-read the directions over and over as I write the paper, to make sure I answer all of the questions, and give the reader every detail. I read over it a numerous amount of times while I am writing, and twice after my first draft is done. There are many benefits of looking over a paper after you are finished. Looking over a paper after you are done esures that what you want to say is what actually appears on paper. While you are writing you may think you answered the question, but actually missed out on a few important pointers. It will also help you to catch some of your grammar mistakes and spelling mistakes. The computer does not always catch your mistakes.

2.) I can apply the "Consider the Evidence" information to the drafting of an Argument from Personal Experience paper by experimenting with my own eyes and hands, instead of through sources like (magazines, or television.) Using your own facts relates you to your paper and helps you go more into details. Using sources does not always fully support your ideas.

3.) What is the most useful information from the "Academic Writing is an Analysis" section is do not write a summary unless directly asked to. I tend to gather all of the information and try to imply the whole thing to the writing assignment. I tend to skip out on the important details rather than cover the important details. The analysis part needs to be more explained in class, I don not understand.

4.) Some similarities for the two are mostly everything that a perfect paper would be. There are really no differences. They both are clear on how to create perfect papers.

Discussion #2 "A Homemade Education"

1.) The word "HOMEMADE" defines itself. Made from the home. When you make things you often start from scratch. You make the things how you would like it. Benefits from homemaking are the best benefits. You use the things that you like, and that you will feel comfortable with. Some store bought things may not have the material that you are searching for. Homemade things are made from the heart. For example, its someone special in your life birthday, and you want to get them a card, but you have no money. You can either skip out on this year, or make them a card. You love them so much, that you make a card. When that person receives the card they know it was from the heart. It will become very special to them. President Lincoln was largely self-educated, but came out to be the 16th President of the United States. He led the country through a great constitutional, military and moral crisis; the American Civil War.

2.) Malcolm X relates education to freedom by saying he wasn't educated the way some people were in a school, but when he entered the classroom he felt as if he knew more than what some people already knew. Education is Freedom. It is the right to get an education despite what religion you are, what ethnic background you are, or even what sex you are. When you have knowledge no one can ever entrap you. Knowledge is power and sets you free from bondage.

3.) If I was locked in a cell I would pursue psychology. Psychology is the study of the mind. In jail all kinds of things happen, and as your mind revolves around alot of things I would be able to figure out why people do the things they do in jail, or why people go crazy while in jail. My goals for my life after would be to go beyond studying pyschology and do something greater to help our mind and figure out more things on our thought processes. I would go to college and find good internship that can help me.

Benefits from Drafting

Benefits to drafting my papers with my own world view leading my thought processes could be the way I view different options, my opinions, and the way I make my choices. World view is different for eveyone. Everyone has their own opinion on the world, and we all handle the situations we encounter differently. Our opinions are based upon what we think of a situation or maybe how we feel about the situation. My opinion could help someone view the world differently, or someone else's opinion can help me view the world differently. The choices I make may depend on my perspective of the world. They may be good, they may be bad.Drafting your papers with the way you view the world connects you to yourself and who you are as a person.

2.) World views is how we all view things from our own eyes. We can use our view of the world to help us better understand our academic view. Using a real life situation can help us with our academic views. Academic views are more of an overview dealing with school. After education you should keep your views of the world, bc you will know who you are. Our world views can help us make a good decision.
