Discussion #4

1.) This passage is not only for women, but it also applies to men. I agree with doing things that will better challenge our lives. Women too often do things that they know will not challenge them. Men will do things to take on a big challenge. Just like a woman a man should not let others think, speak, or act for them. Women do things because, a male does it first. If a male does something, a female will go right behind him and do the same thing, NOT thinking we suffer different consequences. Women are more looked down on because, we have the sex; FEMALE. Minorities and people with low income are also looked down upon because of their situation. We should all be viewed equally.

2.) When students enter a classroom they agree to learn! College is like a big high school to me, except when you enter a classroom in high school you are forced to learn if not you get written up. In college you are not forced to learn. Yes, in college the teacher cares because, they are getting paid if your grades are good. In high school they get paid whether you learn or not. Teachers agree to teach you and also to help you.

I agree with you that all of us should be viewed equally. But the our reality is that we will never be viewed equally as men. Women have to work twice as hard to get into a job position that a man may only have to do half the work for. All of it is unfair. Thats why I think it is our job as women to work harder to succeed.

In college we do agree to learn. The teachers are not always on us about work like they were in high school. We were basically babied. In my high school, senior year all of the teachers kept saying we are trying to prepare you for college, but they continued to baby us and not put any pressure on us to get work done. I like that college teachers expect more out of us. that is how it should be, since we are working towards something bigger.

In your first answer, you are certainly right. We should all be viewed as equals.
